Summary: The role of Cloud Platform Engineer involves supporting and enhancing a core cloud platform within a dynamic enterprise IT environment. The position focuses on contributing to infrastructure projects across various cloud services and participating in a broader transformation program related to IT operations and service delivery. The engineer will work closely with product owners and stakeholders to improve operational practices and reduce risks. This role is hybrid and based in the Portsmouth area, with a contract duration of 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to continuous improvement across platform, delivery, and operational practices.
  • Help reduce operational risk across the core cloud platform.
  • Support demand planning and delivery by working closely with product owners and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and best practice to application teams adopting cloud platforms.
  • Assist in maintaining operational commitments, including managing support tickets and resolving issues.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with AWS or Azure and cloud-native architectures.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC); Terraform experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with building and hardening Windows and RHEL Golden Images.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with understanding of operational support processes.
  • Scripting or automation experience (eg Python, PowerShell, Bash, or tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.

Cloud Platform Engineer - 6 months - £650 per day inside IR35 - Hybrid - Portsmouth Area Office

We're looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to support and enhance a core cloud platform within a fast-paced, enterprise IT environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure projects across multiple cloud services while playing a key part in a wider transformation programme, including changes to IT operations and service delivery practices.
