Summary: The Data Engineer role requires an SC cleared professional to support the customer support department and project teams in developing and evolving database solutions. The position involves migrating data from legacy systems, designing data models, and optimizing database systems while ensuring security and functionality. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to identify future data needs and provide operational support for Management Information Systems. This is a 12-month contract based in Stevenage, with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information
- Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality
- Analysing, planning, and defining data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data
- Migrate data from Legacy systems to new solutions
- Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
- Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements
- Optimize new and current database systems
- Define security and backup procedures
- Collaborating with other teams within the organisation to devise and implement data strategies, build models, and assess shareholder needs and goals
