Electrical Design Engineer
Summary: The Electrical Design Engineer role involves supporting the delivery of TfL and London Underground infrastructure projects in South East London. The position requires expertise in designing electrical systems, conducting site surveys, and producing installation designs. Candidates should have relevant experience in commercial or industrial projects and proficiency in electrical design software. This long-term contract role is outside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems including containment, lighting, small power, cabling, earthing & bonding, and electrical circuitry.
- Conduct site surveys and perform electrical calculations.
- Produce installation designs in line with industry standards.
- Support the delivery of TfL / London Underground infrastructure projects.
Key Skills:
- Electrical Design Engineering experience within commercial or industrial projects.
- Proficient with Amtech/Trimble.
- 18th Edition certification.
- Experience producing electrical calculations and installation designs.
- Dialux experience (desirable).
- Railway, TfL, LU or Network Rail project experience (desirable).
- Previous site-based background as an Electrician (desirable but not essential).

A Railway Infrastructure Contractor is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the delivery of TfL / London Underground infrastructure projects across multiple projects in London.
You’ll be involved in the design of electrical systems including containment, lighting, small power, cabling, earthing & bonding, and electrical circuitry, carrying out site surveys, electrical calculations, and producing installation designs in line with industry standards.
Essential Requirements
- Electrical Design Engineering experience within commercial or industrial projects
- Proficient with Amtech/Trimble
- 18th Edition
- Experience producing electrical calculations and installation designs
Desirable
- Dialux experience
- Railway, TfL, LU or Network Rail project experience
- Previous site-based background as an Electrician in the past would be advantageous but not essential
