Summary: The roles of GIS Enterprise Solution Architect and GIS Designer are focused on supporting a telecom network inventory transformation programme in Ipswich. The Architect will lead the design and implementation of enterprise GIS solutions, while the Designer will enhance GIS applications and data models. Both positions require collaboration to ensure robust geospatial solutions across the organization. The roles are hybrid, requiring three days per week onsite, with contracts lasting between 6 to 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement enterprise GIS architectures across desktop, web, and mobile platforms.
  • Define integration architecture across OSS/BSS and enterprise systems.
  • Establish data governance frameworks for fibre network inventory.
  • Lead system transformation and legacy modernisation initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership across implementation, migration, and rollout phases.
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and performance standards.
  • Develop and maintain GIS applications across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
  • Configure and manage ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
  • Implement UNM data models and versioned workflows.
  • Design and maintain geodatabases and GIS data structures.
  • Build solutions using ArcGIS Pro, ArcPy, REST APIs, and SDKs.
  • Support cloud-based GIS deployments.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years in GIS architecture and solution design.
  • Expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise and UNM (telecom domain preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of telecom network inventory systems.
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • 8+ years in GIS application development.
  • Strong expertise in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Hands-on experience with UNM (telecom preferred).
  • Experience with enterprise GIS databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Knowledge of GIS data formats and development tools.

Contract Opportunities: GIS Enterprise Solution Architect & GIS Designer

Location: Ipswich - Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite

Contract Rates: GIS Designer: £500 – £585 per day (Inside IR35) GIS Enterprise Solution Architect: £670 per day (Inside IR35)

Working Pattern: Travel required

Duration: 6 to 12 months initially

Role Overview
