Head of Data (Contract)
A leading organisation in the manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced contract Head of Data to lead a significant phase of its data and analytics transformation. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with senior-level influence across the business. The successful candidate will drive the strategic alignment of data initiatives while establishing robust governance structures and modern platform capabilities.
Data Strategy and Leadership
- Own and deliver the overarching data strategy, ensuring close alignment with broader business priorities and manufacturing operations.
- Lead, develop, and mentor both internal and external data teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Manage and influence Senior Executive stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of data roadmaps and project milestones.
Governance and Platform Development
- Oversee data governance frameworks, data quality management policies, and platform architecture development.
- Establish a robust framework for artificial intelligence (AI) innovation with the appropriate level of corporate governance and risk management.
- Rebuild and reinforce trust across the business in performance reporting and operational KPIs.
Analytics and Transformation
- Drive the transition from Legacy, reactive reporting methods toward advanced, predictive analytics capabilities.
- Champion agile methodologies, working effectively within cross-functional teams to accelerate data delivery.
Key Requirements
- Senior Leadership: Proven track record in senior data leadership positions (such as Head of Data or Director level), ideally within a fast-paced environment.
- Transformation Expertise: Strong background in delivering large-scale data and analytics transformations from conception through to execution.
- Technical Depth: Expert knowledge of data strategy formulation, data governance practices, and modern advanced analytics techniques.
- Sector Familiarity: Experience working with industrial, supply chain, or manufacturing data structures is highly advantageous.
- Methodology and Communication: Strong experience working within agile, cross-functional frameworks alongside exceptional stakeholder management skills.
