Java 11 Engineer Banking West Sussex Hybrid

Summary: A leading IT Consultancy is looking for a Java 11 Engineer to work on a contract basis for a prominent Financial Services client. The role requires onsite work in West Sussex three times a week. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in Java application design and development, along with familiarity with various technologies and frameworks. Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing software applications using Java
• Writing, testing, and maintaining clean, efficient code
• Building Back End services, APIs, and microservices
• Integrating applications with databases and external systems
• Troubleshooting bugs and optimizing application performance
• Participating in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities
• Collaborating with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and other developers
• Ensuring applications are scalable, secure, and reliable

Key Skills:

• Hands on Java application design, software development and automated testing (Java 11 and higher)
• Intermediate knowledge of basic infrastructure technologies and components
• Familiarity with application containers based on spring, Vert.X or equivalent
• Familiarity with Cloud services including DevOps concepts and CI/CD tools
• Experience with Event-driven/Micro-services architecture for high-availability/distributed systems
• Experience using Spring Framework, Junit, GitHub, Microservices, Splunk and API's
• Experience with Test driven development and unit testing frameworks
