Summary: The Logging & Inventory Cloud Engineer role involves enhancing cloud visibility, inventory management, monitoring capabilities, and automation across complex multi-cloud environments. The position requires hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and GCP, and focuses on implementing logging and inventory management solutions. The role is hybrid, requiring four days in the Glasgow office and one day working from home. The contract is initially for six months with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions across cloud platforms.
- Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Develop scripts and tooling using Python and Shell scripting.
- Support cloud engineering activities across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Drive improvements in cloud observability, monitoring and operational reporting.
- Manage and optimise containerised workloads where required.
- Work closely with engineering and platform teams to improve cloud governance and operational controls.
- Support cloud asset discovery, inventory management and configuration management initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Proven experience delivering logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions within cloud environments.
- Strong Python development and automation skills.
