We are seeking an organized and proactive Stores & Materials Operative to join a major, high-profile rolling stock programme based in Goole, East Yorkshire . This is a hands-on, 12-month contract (40 hours per week, Inside IR35) where you will play a crucial role in ensuring materials, components, and tooling are exactly where they need to be to support vital commissioning, maintenance, and modification activities. If you have a strong background in industrial stores management, a sharp eye for inventory accuracy, and experience with SAP, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Inventory Control: Managing the safe receipt, storage, and distribution of components across multiple site locations using SAP/ERP systems .
- Logistics Coordination: Organizing material movements between stores, production lines, and external locations, including processing transport requests.
- Supplier & Warranty Support: Handling supplier returns, tracking repair loops, and managing quarantined stock.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, adhering to strict quality procedures, and managing COSHH-controlled products.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Background in a stores, materials, or logistics role within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment (Rail/Rolling Stock experience is a huge plus!).
- Systems: Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP material management systems, alongside strong MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of warehouse processes, stock control, and COSHH regulations .
