Proactive are urgently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our client, a well-established engineering company based out in Bristol. This role would suit someone with a background in mechanical fitting, machine building, precision assembly, or industrial machinery manufacturing.

Role Details :

Location: Bristol (BS31)

Pay rate:

• PAYE Permanent Contract:
• 16.50 per hour
• Overtime available
• 37 hours per week
• Flexible working hours
• Umbrella Contract:
• 20.00- 25.00 per hour (via Umbrella company)

Normal Working hours: 37hrs/week (Flexible working hours)

Key Responsibilities

• Bench fitting and mechanical assembly
• Building mechanical sub-assemblies
• Setting up and aligning machine frames
• Setting up and aligning tooling to specified tolerances
• Functional testing and fault finding
• Using conventional machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.) and hand tools
• Identifying opportunities to improve quality and reduce costs
• Supporting customer site visits for machine commissioning, testing, and fault resolution
• Working closely with other departments to achieve business objectives
• Following company procedures and health & safety requirements

Skills & Experience Likely Required

• Experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Machine Builder
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience with precision alignment and assembly
• Fault-finding and mechanical testing experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel occasionally for machine commissioning
