On-Prem IAM Support Engineer

Summary: The On-Prem IAM Support Engineer role is a contract position focused on providing support for on-prem Identity & Access Management systems in an enterprise setting. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting authentication issues, managing access requests, and ensuring compliance with security policies. This position requires a proactive approach to maintaining the reliability and security of IAM services. The role is based on-site in Inverness and offers a competitive daily rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting and troubleshooting on-prem IAM platforms (eg, Active Directory, LDAP and related services)
• Monitoring performance, diagnosing incidents, and driving fixes to reduce downtime
• Handling user provisioning/de-provisioning, access changes and audits
• Working with security and engineering teams to implement policies and stay compliant
• Producing clear documentation for processes, fixes, and configurations

Key Skills:

• Proven experience supporting on-prem IAM (AD/LDAP/similar)
• Strong knowledge of authentication mechanisms, access management, security protocols
• Confident troubleshooting under pressure in a production environment
• Clear communicator (technical + non-technical stakeholders)
• Security/IAM certifications are a bonus (eg, CISSP/CISA or similar)

The role

You'll own day-to-day support and improvement of on-prem IAM services to keep authentication, authorisation, and access controls running securely and reliably.
