The role is hands-on and results-driven: clients expect contractors to set up campaigns, manage budgets, analyse performance data, optimise for conversions, and report on ROI. Unlike a marketing strategist or brand consultant, a digital marketing contractor is expected to operate the tools directly, whether that is Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, HubSpot, Marketo, or a programmatic advertising platform.
