Summary: The Mainframe Modernization Architect will spearhead large-scale modernization projects, converting legacy mainframe applications into cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The role requires extensive experience in mainframe modernization, Java development, and cloud architecture, along with knowledge of emerging Agentic AI technologies. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives, design architectures, and collaborate with various stakeholders to define modernization roadmaps. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end mainframe modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
- Design target-state architectures leveraging Google Cloud Platform.
- Modernize COBOL/Mainframe applications using Java-based microservices and cloud-native architectures.
- Design and implement Agentic AI-driven development solutions to accelerate modernization.
- Develop scalable Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to define modernization roadmaps.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud security standards.
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and architecture governance.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of IT experience with strong Architecture experience.
- Hands-on experience with Mainframe Modernization projects.
- Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
- Experience with legacy technologies such as COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, or IMS.
