Summary: The SAP HCM Payroll Consultant role requires extensive hands-on experience in US Payroll configuration and workflow within SAP HCM, focusing on areas such as PCRs/schemas, US tax setup, and third-party integrations. The consultant will lead the delivery of payroll solutions, ensure payroll stability, and mentor junior team members. Key responsibilities include end-to-end configuration, troubleshooting, and collaboration with various teams to resolve issues. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end SAP HCM US Payroll configuration, enhancements, and operational support (incident/problem/change).
  • Design, build, and troubleshoot Payroll Schemas and PCRs (wage type processing, retro, rule logic, validations, error handling, payroll log analysis).
  • Own US tax configuration and troubleshooting within SAP HCM Payroll, including ongoing tax updates and tax-related production issues.
  • Configure and maintain BSI settings and support BSI-related activities (updates, validation, impact analysis, issue resolution).
  • Deliver standard US payroll configuration including: Union contracts (rules, pay elements, deductions/benefits impacts) Wage types (valuation, processing classes, cumulations, deductions) Personnel areas/subareas and payroll areas (org-to-payroll mapping impacts) Garnishments (setup, processing, compliance-related troubleshooting) Support and troubleshoot third-party integrations with UKG/Kronos/SuccessFactors (inbound/outbound interfaces, mapping, reconciliations, monitoring and error handling).
  • Lead testing cycles (unit/SIT/UAT), payroll parallel testing support, reconciliation, and cutover planning/execution.
  • Produce and review functional specs, configuration/workbook documentation, and support runbooks; ensure audit-ready traceability.
  • Partner with HR/Payroll, Time, Finance, and technical teams (ABAP/integration) to drive solutions and resolve cross-functional defects.
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to delivery governance, estimates, and workplanning.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in SAP HCM US Payroll (production support).
  • Strong expertise in PCRs and Schemas (design + complex troubleshooting).
  • Proven experience with US tax configuration and resolving US tax-related payroll issues in SAP HCM Payroll.
  • Hands-on experience with BSI (configuration/support and update cycles).
