Summary: The Senior Integration Engineer will lead the integration efforts for a major enterprise retail client undergoing a martech transformation. This role involves designing and developing integration layers, building CDP activation pipelines, and implementing robust API integrations. The engineer will also monitor integration health and collaborate with various teams to onboard new vendor integrations within a cloud-native environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Senior Integration Engineer on a strategic engagement for a major enterprise retail client undergoing martech transformation.
- Own the design and development of the integration layer connecting customer data platforms (CDPs), email service providers (ESPs), and real-time data pipelines across multiple consumer brands.
- Build and maintain CDP activation pipelines, including audience feeds, event streaming, and data quality checks.
- Architect and implement robust API integrations with vendor systems, defining contracts and enforcing reliability (circuit breakers, retry logic, dead letter queues).
- Implement and maintain event streaming infrastructure using technologies like Kafka, Azure Service Bus, or similar platforms.
- Build and support real-time data pipelines to deliver audience data and experiment results into marketing data lakes.
- Monitor and ensure health of integrations across the martech ecosystem through proactive telemetry, alerting, and incident response.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams for onboarding new vendor integrations and managing platform consolidation.
- Document integration patterns, data contracts, and API standards for internal developer reference.
- Work within a cloud-native environment (preferably Azure), utilizing containerization and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Terraform).
- Apply strong API engineering skills, event-driven architecture, and observability best practices to ensure high-quality data flows.
- (Nice to have) Experience with Amperity, Segment, Google Cloud Platform data lake architectures, retail/e-commerce, and experimentation/feature flag systems.
