Zerto Implementation Engineer

Summary: The Zerto Implementation Engineer is a technical expert responsible for deploying and configuring Zerto-based replication and disaster recovery orchestration across the enterprise. This role involves translating architectural designs into practical implementations, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with recovery objectives. The position requires extensive experience in enterprise infrastructure and Zerto implementation, particularly in VMware environments. The role is remote and focuses on long-term deployment and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Zerto Implementation Engineer is the hands-on technical expert responsible for deploying configuring and executing Zerto based replication and DR orchestration across the enterprise This role takes the end to end architecture designs and translates them into reality
• Key Responsibilities Zerto Deployment Configuration Install and configure Zerto Virtual Managers ZVMs on premises and in Azure deploy and maintain Virtual Replication Appliances VRAs across VMware ESXi hosts according to architectural blueprints Runbook Recovery Automation Build test and fine tune failover failback runbooks Recovery Plans including the precise configuration of boot orders IP re-addressing rules and pre/post-failover scripts Testing Validation: Execute routine DR drills failover testing, and live migrations; analyze test results, identify replication bottlenecks or failures, and remediate issues to guarantee RPO compliance Monitoring Operations: Set up Zerto monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools; proactively monitor replication health, manage journal storage capacity, and troubleshoot VRA/ZVM connectivity or performance issues Technical Documentation Author As Built deployment documentation step by step operational runbooks daily health check checklists, and post DR test analysis reports Required Skills Experience8+ years of enterprise infrastructure DR operations experience; 3+ years of deep, hands-on Zerto implementation experience, specifically including VMware-to-Azure replication Strong administration skills in VMware vSphere vCenter management ESXi host configuration vSAN shared storage and standard/distributed switches Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure infrastructure Virtual Networks NSGs ExpressRoute Managed Disks to manage target side landing zones
• Zerto Certified Professional ZCP Enterprise Engineer or Advanced Professional status experience working with recent Zerto versions 9x 10.x+VMware VCP DCV VMware Certified Professional certification Microsoft AZ 104 certification is strongly preferred Key Deliverables Fully deployed and operational Zerto infrastructure across all sites Configured VPG inventory matching the architect's sizing and grouping plan Executed and signed off DR Test Results Failover Validation Reports As Built Configuration Documentation and Daily Operations Runbooks Configured Zerto Alerts dashboards and integration with enterprise monitoring tools

Key Skills:

• 8+ years of enterprise infrastructure DR operations experience
• 3+ years of deep, hands-on Zerto implementation experience, specifically including VMware-to-Azure replication
• Strong administration skills in VMware vSphere, vCenter management, ESXi host configuration, vSAN, shared storage, and standard/distributed switches
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure infrastructure, Virtual Networks, NSGs, ExpressRoute, Managed Disks
• Zerto Certified Professional (ZCP), Enterprise Engineer or Advanced Professional status
• Experience working with recent Zerto versions (9x, 10.x)
• VMware VCP DCV certification
• Microsoft AZ-104 certification is strongly preferred
