SAP PI Consultant
Summary: The SAP PI Consultant role involves integration development using SAP PI, focusing on ABAP proxies, IDOCs, and RFCs. The position requires hands-on experience with SOAP and REST APIs, along with the ability to design PI solutions based on functional requirements. The consultant will lead a team, manage development tasks, and ensure compliance with quality standards while liaising with functional and testing teams. SC Clearance eligibility is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integration development using SAP PI, including ABAP proxies, IDOCs, and RFCs.
- Designing PI solutions based on functional requirements.
- Developing SOAP and REST APIs.
- Creating Unit Test documents and other technical documentation.
- Liaising with functional and test teams to resolve issues.
- Leading the team and escalating problems as necessary.
- Completing work within agreed timescales, cost, and quality criteria.
- Managing problems and changes within the area of responsibility.
- Participating in process improvement and compliance with quality processes.
Key Skills:
- SAP PI/PO 7.3 and SAP ABAP R/3 PI Integration.
- Strong PI development skills using SOAP, REST APIs, and OAS.
- Knowledge of other adapters such as File, JDBC, and IDOC.
- PI Interface Design/Configuration and ABAP Proxy Development.
- User Defined Java Functions.
- Knowledge of SAP TRM, PSCD, CRM, FI, and HR models.
- Familiarity with UNIX, Webmethods, Microsoft Office, and SAP CTS+.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving and creative skills.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and proactive teamwork.

Role purpose / summary
Integration development using SAP PI including use of ABAP proxies IDOC’s and RFC’s. Experience in designing a PI solution based on a functional requirement is essential. Excellent hands on experience working on SOAP and REST APIs . Carry out development in accordance with agreed requirements and development standards. Creation of Unit Test documents and other technical documents. Liaison with the functional and test teams to resolve issues arising from the build and testing. Lead the team and promptly escalate problems, issues and risks as necessary. Completion of work allocated within agreed timescales, and to cost and quality criteria, providing progress reports on assigned work as required. Management and control of problems and change within a given area of responsibility as requested by the Team Manager Playing an active part in process improvement, demonstrating awareness and compliance with all relevant quality processes and procedures, and the completion of all specified quality records.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
