Summary: The Scrum Master role focuses on enabling effective Agile delivery within multidisciplinary teams in the public sector. The successful candidate will coach teams, facilitate Scrum ceremonies, and drive continuous improvement to achieve high-quality outcomes. This position requires a commitment of two days onsite per week in Glasgow. The contract duration is for 9 months, classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring sessions are effective and outcome-focused
  • Coach teams on Agile principles, values, and best practice, supporting team maturity and self-organisation
  • Identify, manage, and remove delivery impediments and blockers
  • Support backlog refinement, prioritisation, and sprint planning alongside Product Owners and data specialists
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement using retrospectives, metrics, and actionable insights
  • Shield teams from external disruption, enabling focus and sustainable delivery
  • Support estimation, capacity planning, and dependency management
  • Use Agile metrics (eg velocity, cycle time, throughput) to drive transparency and continuous improvement
  • Foster collaboration, openness, and constructive challenge across teams and stakeholders
  • Contribute to wider Agile adoption, mentoring colleagues and sharing best practice

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience operating as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile delivery role (2-5+ years)
  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence without authority
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary Agile teams across the full delivery life cycle
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
  • Experience using Agile delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to use data and metrics to support team performance and continuous improvement

Day Rate - up to £450

Duration - 9 months

Harvey Nash are supporting a key client in sourcing an experienced Scrum Master to enable effective Agile delivery across one or more multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in coaching teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and driving continuous improvement to ensure high-quality, value-driven outcomes aligned to organisational objectives. This role requires 2 days onsite per week in Glasgow.

Working closely with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders, you will ensure Agile principles are Embedded consistently while improving team flow, predictability, and delivery performance.
