Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Security-cleared

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work a 2-month contract with our client 60% on-site in either Blackpool or Newcastle.

Minimum Requirement:

• Strong OCI experience at a senior level is the critical requirement:
  • This is the key skill we need to see clearly evidenced on CVs to progress candidates
• We also require candidates with a solid grounding in day-to-day BAU delivery:
  • This is important given that project timelines can shift, and operational support remains essential.

This combination would enable the successful candidate to:

• Bring additional capability into the team and support upskilling of existing colleagues
• Take on BAU operational workload, freeing others to focus on more complex or strategic activity
• Provide support on more complex queries, including design work

In summary, we are looking for a well-rounded individual with strong, recent (last five years) experience in both OCI and Exadata.

Required skills:

1. Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Dataguard, RMAN Backup and Recovery) and Public Cloud Technologies (particularly OCI and AWS)
2. Writing Infrastructure as Code and debugging Terraform and Ansible
3. Managing and maintaining Security procedures including:
   1. Implementing network segregation in a public cloud environment (preferably AWS)
   2. Incorporating transport encryption to protect data in transit (preferably Oracle)
   3. Understanding implementation of database encryption options (preferably Oracle)
4. Conducting Migration Testing (preferably through Oracle and AWS) and implementing secure authentication with OIDC for GitLab runners
5. Maintaining and updating repositories with Git
6. Oracle skills
7. Oracle RDBMS 11.2-23ai experience of supporting Oracle RAC including ASM, AFD, HANFS, TAF. Additional experience of multitenant, TDE and TLS desirable.
8. Specifically in a Linux/Aix OS environment
9. RMAN Backup and recovery
10. OEM, OCI's Db Management
11. Patching and Upgrade experience
12. Track record of supporting highly available mission critical databases
13. Dataguard setup and configuration
14. Data migration tooling Datapump, Golden Gate, ZDM
15. Exadata and Base Database configuration experience in OCI
