Summary: We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a 2-month contract, requiring 60% on-site presence in either Blackpool or Newcastle. The ideal candidate will possess strong OCI experience and a solid background in day-to-day BAU delivery. This role involves supporting operational workloads and providing assistance on complex queries, particularly in OCI and Exadata. The candidate should have recent experience in relevant technologies and be capable of upskilling team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong OCI experience at a senior level.
- Support day-to-day BAU delivery and operational workloads.
- Assist in upskilling existing colleagues.

- Manage Oracle Database technologies and Public Cloud Technologies.
- Write Infrastructure as Code and debug Terraform and Ansible.

- Support highly available mission-critical databases.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Dataguard, RMAN).
- Proficiency in Public Cloud Technologies (OCI, AWS).
- Experience in writing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Knowledge of security procedures and network segregation.
- Experience with migration testing and secure authentication.
- Proficient in maintaining repositories with Git.
- Experience in Oracle RDBMS 11.2-23ai and supporting Oracle RAC.
- Experience in a Linux/Aix OS environment.

In summary, we are looking for a well-rounded individual with strong, recent (last five years) experience in both OCI and Exadata.
Required skills:
- Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Dataguard, RMAN Backup and Recovery) and Public Cloud Technologies (particularly OCI and AWS)
- Writing Infrastructure as Code and debugging Terraform and Ansible
- Managing and maintaining Security procedures including:
- Implementing network segregation in a public cloud environment (preferably AWS)
- Incorporating transport encryption to protect data in transit (preferably Oracle)
- Understanding implementation of database encryption options (preferably Oracle)
- Conducting Migration Testing (preferably through Oracle and AWS) and implementing secure authentication with OIDC for GitLab runners
- Maintaining and updating repositories with Git
- Oracle skills
- Oracle RDBMS 11.2-23ai experience of supporting Oracle RAC including ASM, AFD, HANFS, TAF. Additional experience of multitenant, TDE and TLS desirable.
- Specifically in a Linux/Aix OS environment
- RMAN Backup and recovery
- OEM, OCI's Db Management
- Patching and Upgrade experience
- Track record of supporting highly available mission critical databases
- Dataguard setup and configuration
- Data migration tooling Datapump, Golden Gate, ZDM
- Exadata and Base Database configuration experience in OCI
