Senior Service & Product Designer
Summary: The Senior Service & Product Designer at Bounteous will lead the redesign of complex banking and financial services ecosystems, focusing on improving interconnected platforms. This role requires a strategic designer with systems-thinking capabilities to enhance operational functions and user experiences. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to create scalable, user-centered solutions while leveraging AI tools in the design process. This position is contract-based, with a hybrid working arrangement in Glasgow, United Kingdom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of complex service and product ecosystems across banking and financial services platforms.
- Map and analyze end-to-end user journeys, operational processes, and system interactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, data sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Conduct and synthesize research across multiple stakeholder groups to uncover business and user needs.
- Create service blueprints, experience maps, workflows, interaction designs, and future-state operating models.
- Design solutions that balance user experience, business objectives, technical feasibility, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with engineering, product, compliance, risk, and operations teams to drive solution alignment.
- Utilize AI tools to support research synthesis, concept exploration, design validation, and stakeholder communications.
- Facilitate workshops and present design recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Contribute to design systems, governance frameworks, and best practices that scale across the organization.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Service Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Service Design, Product Design, UX Design, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience leading transformation programs involving complex, interconnected platforms or services.
- Strong background within Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, Capital Markets, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including business, technology, operations, compliance, and risk teams.
- Demonstrated success in delivering strategic design initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) as part of the design and research process is highly desirable.
