Senior Software Engineer - Java/AWS - Contract - Inside IR35 - 6 Months

A leading digital retailer is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing product team. You'll be hands-on across the full development lifecycle, building and enhancing modern, scalable services within a cloud-native environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining Java/Spring Boot microservices
• Building high-quality APIs and integrating with internal/external systems
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Working within AWS-based environments
• Ensuring code quality, reliability and performance
• Collaborating with Product, Architecture and QA
• Supporting continuous improvement across engineering practices

Core Skills Required

• Strong commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices
• Solid understanding of API design and distributed systems
• CI/CD experience with GitLab
• AWS knowledge (Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, etc.)
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams
• Experience in financial services or regulated environments beneficial

Please note the role requires you to be onsite 2 days a week.
