ServiceNow contractors are engaged to implement, configure, develop, and optimise the ServiceNow enterprise platform, which has grown from its origins as an IT service management tool into a broad enterprise workflow and automation platform spanning IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, HR Service Delivery, Customer Service Management, Security Operations, and the ServiceNow App Engine for custom workflow application development. Contract engagements arise during ServiceNow implementations, module expansions, platform upgrades, integration projects, and when ongoing platform development and administration requires specialist resource beyond the capacity of the permanent team.
ServiceNow contractors are expected to have hands-on, platform-certified experience with the specific ServiceNow products and modules relevant to the engagement. For ITSM roles, deep knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management module configuration, including service catalogue design, SLA configuration, and workflow and notification management, is expected.
