Mint Selection are partnered with a leading organisation within the energy sector to recruit an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of major Transmission & Distribution projects across Scotland.

We are looking to speak with Site Managers who have a proven track record of delivering high voltage substation and transmission projects up to 400kV.

The successful candidate will have experience managing site operations on National Grid, SSEN, SP Energy Networks or other major utility projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and client expectations.

Scope of Work

  • Manage the day-to-day construction activities on high voltage transmission and substation projects up to 400kV.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, direct labour and multidisciplinary site teams across both civil and electrical work packages.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, ITPs, project programmes and engineering standards.
  • Lead site Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance, ensuring full compliance with permit-to-work systems, RAMS and company procedures.
  • Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions, maintaining a strong safety culture throughout the project.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, client representatives and engineering teams to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks and resolve site issues to minimise delays and maintain project delivery.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered efficiently.
  • Complete and maintain all site documentation including daily diaries, permits, inspections, quality records, ITPs and progress reports.
  • Support testing, commissioning and energisation activities through to project completion and handover.

Experience to be Considered

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering Transmission & Distribution or substation projects up to 400kV.
  • Previous experience working on SSEN, SP Energy Networks, National Grid, DNO, ICP or EPC projects is essential.
  • Strong understanding of high voltage substation construction, including primary plant, steelwork, foundations, cable installation, ducting, earthworks and associated civil works.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors within fast-paced construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ procedures, permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work.
  • SMSTS and CSCS are essential.
  • National Grid Person, SR163, BESC, Persons or equivalent transmission competencies would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills with the ability to drive projects safely, efficiently and to programme.
