Summary: The Syndicate Finance Manager will join a well-established Lloyd's syndicate's Finance team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This role involves managing Lloyd's regulatory returns, leading the delivery of Syndicate Financial Statements, and liaising with external auditors. The position also includes presenting financial commentary to senior management and driving process improvements in reporting. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with extensive experience in the Lloyd's market and strong technical skills in insurance accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of Lloyd's regulatory returns including QMA, QMB, SBF, NAIC, TRIA/FIO and Solvency II reporting.
- Lead delivery of the Syndicate Financial Statements.
- Act as primary liaison with external auditors.
- Present financial and underwriting commentary to senior management.
- Support the capital setting process.
- Drive process improvement across Lloyd's reporting.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
- Extensive Lloyd's market experience with strong knowledge of syndicate reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Strong technical grounding in insurance accounting and regulatory returns.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Workday, Phinsys or Clearwater a plus.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels.
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience desirable.
