Key Responsibilities
- System Design & Delivery
- Design and engineer system solutions that meet functional, non-functional, and operational requirements
- Produce and maintain system designs, technical documentation, and interface definitions
- Support system build, configuration, integration, testing, and deployment activities
- Integration & Assurance
- Integrate components across infrastructure, applications, networks, and services
- Ensure systems meet security, resilience, and compliance standards
- Identify and manage technical risks, issues, and dependencies
- Operations & Support
- Support systems through transition to service and live operation
- Diagnose and resolve system issues and performance problems
- Provide technical input to change, incident, and problem management
- Stakeholder & Team Working
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements
- Work collaboratively with architects, developers, delivery managers, and suppliers
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working as a System Engineer or in a similar technical role
- Strong understanding of system lifecycle delivery (requirements through to operations)
- Experience of system integration in complex or multi-technology environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in cloud, hybrid, or distributed systems
- Exposure to secure, regulated, or mission-critical environments
- Familiarity with systems engineering, enterprise architecture, or service management frameworks
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, or iterative delivery models
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Relevant technical or professional certifications (desirable)
