System Engineer

Systems Engineer PNT Systems Engineer contract opportunity supporting a major UK defence programme £500 to £750 per day, inside IR35 Hybrid working, with regular attendance at customer site in Bristol Current SC clearance required, DV clearance highly desirable

ABOUT THE CLIENT: Our client is a leading engineering and technology organisation delivering complex programmes across the UK defence sector. They provide specialist technical expertise to support the development, integration and assurance of mission-critical capabilities. Due to an ongoing programme requirement, they are looking for an experienced PNT Systems Engineer to join the team.

THE PNT SYSTEMS ENGINEER ROLE: As PNT Systems Engineer, you will support the delivery of Position, Navigation and Timing projects within a MOD delivery team. You will own the development of electronic systems requirements, define technical deliverables and maintain supporting engineering documentation. You will manage system design activity within cost, time and performance constraints, identify technical hazards and project risks, and support the development of appropriate risk-reduction measures. You will also lead test, verification, validation and evaluation activity across electronic systems and sensors. The role requires attendance at customer site, at least once per week, with two to three days anticipated depending on programme needs.

PNT SYSTEMS ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Strong electronic systems, sensors or mechatronics engineering experience Experience providing technical advice and leading successful engineering delivery Requirements development and management System design, integration, verification and validation Technical risk, hazard and assurance experience STEM qualification at RQF Level 4 or above Professional registration such as IEng, RSci, RMarTech, Adv RITTech or CPhys Current SC clearance PNT, GNSS or satellite navigation experience is highly desirable DV clearance is highly desirable
