Technical Accountant
Summary: The Technical Accountant role involves supporting the central technical accounting capability of a global organization, focusing on IFRS application, group consolidation, and external reporting. This hands-on position requires expertise in complex accounting judgments and technical advisory activities. The role is based in Pangbourne and is offered as a 12-month hybrid contract. The successful candidate will collaborate with auditors and senior finance stakeholders to ensure high-quality financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical accounting support on complex and non-routine accounting matters.
- Support IFRS interpretation and application across the organisation.
- Assist with group consolidation and external reporting activities.
- Review and challenge accounting treatments and reporting decisions.
- Prepare technical accounting papers, position memos and supporting documentation.
- Partner with auditors and senior finance stakeholders on accounting issues.
- Support high-quality financial reporting across a global multi-entity environment.
Key Skills:
- ACA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Proven hands-on technical accounting experience.
- Strong IFRS interpretation and application expertise.
- Group reporting and consolidation experience.
- Experience supporting complex accounting judgements.
- Ability to challenge accounting treatments and provide advisory support.
