Key Responsibilities
- Follow all health and safety policies and safe working practices.
- Support engineers with technical investigations into engine components and systems, validating performance and durability.
- Operate specialist test equipment and carry out investigations to collect, analyse and record test data.
- Produce accurate records of test results using charts, tables, photographs and software for inclusion in technical reports.
- Work hands-on with engine components, test rigs and laboratory equipment, observing, operating and recording performance data.
- Follow documented work instructions and standard operating procedures using hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with 5S and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
- Travel to and support activities at other UK facilities when required.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working within a fuel injection environment.
- Engine component testing experience.
- Strain gauge application and instrumentation setup.
- Soldering of electronic components.
- Software operation and basic data acquisition.
- Experience using ultrasonic bolt monitoring equipment.
- Slip torque testing.
- Competence using hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment.
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- Engineering apprenticeship, motor mechanics apprenticeship, or equivalent practical engineering experience.
